Thompson, CT USA - Numa, a leading designer and manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits, has recently introduced two new down hole hammers, the Champion 50E and Champion 80E. The design of these hammers make them perfectly suited for all drilling applications in the water well, construction, mining, quarry, oil & gas and environmental industries.

The Champion 50E and 80E enter the drilling market with a simplified hammer design that was accomplished by eliminating several internal components and attaching the feed tube assembly within the backhead of the hammer. These changes promote much better alignment of all internal hammer parts resulting in longer hammer life, improved overall hammer performance and most importantly, faster penetration rates. Both the Champion 50E and 80E stack up as one of the fastest hammers for their size class in the industry today. Another key feature of both hammers is the ability to handle difficult back pressure drilling conditions. When faced with high heads of water, the Champion 50E and 80E hammers will continue drilling efficiently where most competitor hammers stop working.

The Champion 50E hammer is capable of drilling holes 5-1/8" to 5-1/2" (130-140 mm) in diameter and has an overall weight of just 142 lbs. (64 kg). While the Champion 80E is designed for drilling holes 7-7/8" to 10" (200-254 mm) in diameter with an overall weight of 452 lbs. (205 kg). Both hammers boast the ability to efficiently operate at pressures as low as 150 psi (10.2 bar) while delivering an impressive 1600 and 1700 blows per minute respectively at 350 psi (23.8 bar).

Typical horizontal and vertical applications for these hammers include water wells, caissons, tie-backs, exploration holes, pile/rock sockets, tunneling under roads and other jobs where large volume of rock drilling is required.

Numa is a major manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits for the international drilling industry. The company designs and builds down hole hammers and bits for drilling vertical and horizontal holes 3-1/2 to 48 inches (89 - 1219 mm) in diameter.
