Thompson, CT USA - Numa, a leading designer and manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits, has announced the release of a new Patriot® 35A down hole hammer. The Patriot® 35A features a longer case, heavier piston and faster stroke than its predecessor allowing it to outdistance competitive hammers in both speed and longevity. By addressing driller's issues, the Numa Patriot® hammers provide a complete drilling solution.
The Patriot® 35A can be used in virtually any type of rock drilling condition and has the capability to drill holes 3-1/2 to 4-1/8 inches (89 - 105 mm) in diameter. Some typical applications include water wells, monitoring wells, blastholes, geothermal wells, tie-backs, exploration holes and other jobs where rock drilling is required. The Patriot® 35A is suited for all drilling applications in the water well, construction, mining, quarry, oil & gas and environmental industries.
With a total weight of 45 lbs. (20 kg) and overall length of 28-5/8 inches (728 mm), the Patriot® 35A provides the desired ability to run fast and run long like no other hammer available today. The new design makes this hammer the perfect solution for drilling in confined areas where others just can’t go.
The Patriot® is made from the best parts, under exacting conditions to ensure it delivers outstanding penetration rates and durability every time you drill. Its compact design allows for the transfer of drilling energy to the bit quickly and efficiently to promote faster drilling speeds and allows drillers to complete jobs more quickly and at a lower cost per foot. Overall, the Patriot® 35A has proven to be 20% faster than the previous model with an average yield of 1750 BPM at 350 psi (23.8 bar).
"Numa has truly delivered a hammer with unmatched performance and longevity with this new release. With a longer case, heavier piston and faster stroke, the Patriot® 35A provides the dependability required for today’s demanding drilling environment," said Numa President Ralph Leonard.
As with other Patriot® hammers, Numa engineers simplified the design of the Patriot® 35A. The hammer contains less overall parts making it easier to maintain than competitor hammers, resulting in more drilling time instead of down time. The P35A feed tube assembly attaches directly to the backhead of the hammer to provide outstanding alignment of all hammer parts. This enhancement, along with a longer case and heavier piston, results in longer hammer life and improved overall hammer performance. All of which is accomplished with limited air requirements of 150 - 350 psi (10 - 23.8 bar) and 158 - 452 cfm (66 - 196 l/sec).
Another key feature of the Patriot® 35A is the ability to handle difficult back pressure drilling conditions. When faced with high heads of water, the P35A will continue drilling efficiently where most competitor hammers stop working. This is extremely important in many drilling situations where water is encountered.
Numa is a major manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits for the international drilling industry. The company designs and builds down hole hammers and bits for drilling vertical and horizontal holes 3-1/2 to 48 inches (89 - 1219 mm) in diameter. The company is known worldwide for their Patriot® hammer line, which provides an unmatched combination of fast penetration rates and long hammer life.
