Tooling Manufacturer Numa Adds HDD 80 to Product Line

Company Says Drilling System Improves Steerability, Penetration

Drilling technology provider Numa has added the HDD 80 to its HDD Drilling Systems product line, further extending the range of the company’s HDD products.

“Numa continues to design new products to tackle the challenges drillers face,” says Numa President, Ralph Leonard. “Our high quality, made in the USA HDD products provide the right balance of performance and dependability without sacrificing tool life.”

In a release, the company says the system consists of a variety of HDD components, including hammer, bits, side-load sonde housing, bent subs and adaptors, capable of drilling holes 9¾ to 10 inches (248 to 254 mm) in diameter. Numa says the system’s benefits include improved steerability, fast penetration rates, simplified field maintenance, reduced air requirements and lower overall cost per foot.
Numa says designs their HDD hammers to drill longer in difficult rock conditions. Furthermore, a single-bore design allows for a maximum bore diameter while providing optimum life against abrasion.

The HDD 80 system becomes the company’s top end system. The full line starts with the HDD 35, for holes from 3⅞ to 4 inches (98 mm to 102 mm) in diameter and goes up from there. Find full product specs on the company’s website.

Since its beginning in 1985, Numa has become a major manufacturer of DTH hammers and bits for the domestic and international drilling industry. The company designs and builds downhole hammers and bits for drilling vertical and horizontal holes 3½ to 50½ inches (89 to 1,283 millimeters) in diameter.
